Autodesk ForceEffect App Reviews

Great Program

This is one of the greatest apps I have ever found. Perfect for performing simple statics problems.

Great App

This is a great and useful app. that I use as a CE/ME student at Pitt (main). Definitely recommend it. Thanks.

Engineer

Very handy- highly recommend this

Overall good, needs details

App is very powerful. However, sharing, and sharing reports in particular, is lacking. Also dragging points to rotate a structure performs very poorly, jumping through large angles and prohibiting fine control.

Force Effect makes analyzing what ifs a snap

I started using Force Effect for a statics class as we progressed through more complex material. I have been using it to analyze different designs and perform what ifs for design modifications. It has made my work much more efficient.

Quick analytical software

This app allows for quick analysis of a structure. Its great for engineering students, and extremely easy to learn. The system is streamlined and the user interface is easy to understand. It can compute quickly, produce accurate calculations, and graph for bending moment and shear force.

quick and COOL!

I havent used this much yet but it looks very quick to draw FBDs, add loads and the program does all the calculating for you. I plan to use this for my structural analysis class. A must have.

Incridible

As a civil engineer student , this app helped me a lot. Thanks autodesk

So helpful thank you!

Thank you!

Very nice

This works well.

Neat app

As a mech e, this is a nice tool to have, although pretty basic. I can imagine this to be a great solution checker for both students and real world problems (first time I used it to do a quick check on a racking design). I really like that you can superimpose your modeling on any image. It has crashed on me several times.

Great, but

It is very useful to be able to have the shear and moment diagrams, but if it doesnt allow you to force a beam to stay level then it doesnt matter how powerful of a tool it is when it has different reaction values for a symmetrical situation because its not quite level. It would also help if you could copy and paste sections of trusses to make sure that they are identical. And none of it matters at all if it doesnt stop crashing every time you try to change angles between members. All of that said, it has a massive amount of potential if Autodesk can fix all of the bugs they have with their current version, and not just keep putting out a new version with new features but all the same old bugs.

Amazing

It is so cool and helps me out.

Love at first moment diagram.

Its just............so beautiful.

Needs more supports

Love it, a great app for civil engineering students, and i constantly use it. The only thing that lets it down is that it doesnt have a rolling fixed support, which is a huge letdown at times.

Great app for Engineers

This is really great app for structural Engineers

Great teaching tool for statics

What a wonderful tool. As an engineering professor who frequently teaches Statics and Mechanics of Materials, I think this is a wonderful tool to teach my students about trusses, frames, and beams. It helps me generate teaching and practice problems, and it helps me demonstrate concepts to students who are struggling with analyzing trusses or constructing shear and moment diagrams. I would love it if the program could handle other types of distributed loads — perhaps a linearly or parabolically increase along the length of a beam? It would make a great program even better. Also, a great next step would be the ability to enter the modulus of elasticity and moment of inertia for the member, and have the app calculate the deflection along with the internal shear force and moment. Perhaps in a future update? I’d find it a really useful teaching tool, and it’s the logical next step once you have shear and moment diagrams. Thanks for a great app!

Crashes with angles

I cant input an exact angle without the app crashing.

Engineering Student

As an engineering student, this app is a must-have. Lets me quickly check my homework and get past problems that have me stumped.

Awesome

A little hard to get the lengths right but this app is a HUGE help for my statics class!!!
